Good Jobs for Alabama Families

  • Expand career and technical education in high schools, letting students earn trade certifications before graduation.

  • Offer state tax credits to small businesses that hire and train apprentices.

  • Push for state-backed investment in manufacturing and shipbuilding, including partnerships with Huntsville aerospace, Mobile shipyards, and Birmingham steel.

  • Establish a “Made in Alabama” program to prioritize local businesses in state procurement.

  • Encourage cooperation between high schools and unions to allow training and apprenticeships as a part of shop/technical/trade classes.

  • Repeal SB231 and protect card check.

Stronger Schools, Stronger Communities

  • Increase teacher pay to the Southeastern average to reduce teacher flight to neighboring states.

  • Fund early childhood education, particularly pre-K in rural areas.

  • Create a state childcare tax credit for working families.

  • Tie school funding more closely to local student needs rather than property tax bases, which hurt poor counties.
