Push for state-backed investment in manufacturing and shipbuilding, including partnerships with Huntsville aerospace, Mobile shipyards, and Birmingham steel.
Establish a “Made in Alabama” program to prioritize local businesses in state procurement.
Encourage cooperation between high schools and unions to allow training and apprenticeships as a part of shop/technical/trade classes.
Repeal SB231 and protect card check.
Stronger Schools, Stronger Communities
Increase teacher pay to the Southeastern average to reduce teacher flight to neighboring states.
Fund early childhood education, particularly pre-K in rural areas.
Create a state childcare tax credit for working families.
Tie school funding more closely to local student needs rather than property tax bases, which hurt poor counties.
